This male Blue Dasher dragonfly was photographed in Tiger Bay State Forest, just west of Daytona Beach.

"Heading Out To Sea" is a photograph of a loggerhead turtle that had just hatched and dug itself out of the nest. The light of early dawn shines on the turtle as it pauses on the beach just before rushing into the ocean.
This image won first place in the Florida - Beyond Birds category of the Orange Audubon Society's 2008 Kit & Sidney Chertok Nature Photography Contest.

This adult Great Horned Owl was in a tall pine tree in Ormond Beach and is titled "Don't Mess With My Chicks" because there were also three owlets in that tree, along with the other adult owl.
This image won third place in the Florida's Birds! category of the Orange Audubon Society's 2007 Kit & Sidney Chertok Nature Photography Contest.

An adult and a juvenile Black Skimmer standing side-by-side on Daytona Beach. This photograph was made just a few days before the young skimmer fledged and flew off for the first time.
Homer & Bart won an honorable mention in the Florida's Avian Wonders category of the Orange Audubon Society's 2008 Kit & Sidney Chertok Nature Photography Contest.
