Rodman Reservoir was created by damming a section of the Ocklawaha River as part of the abandoned cross-Florida barge canal project. About every three years, the water level is lowered primarily to control invasive aquatic vegetation. I made two kayak trips to the Ocklawaha River and Rodman Reservoir this winter while the water level was lowered. Read more about the the drawdown of the Rodman Reservoir, my kayak trips, the springs, wildlife and other sights in the latest blog post.
