This shrub or small tree to six meters tall can be found on the banks of freshwater ponds and streams and in wet hammocks and swamps from Brevard and Manatee Counties southward. The range also includes Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

 
Annona glabra is a member of the Annonaceae - Custard-apple family.
