This native of tropical America can be found in scattered counties throughout Florida, usually in disturbed sites. It also ranges through all of the southeastern United States as well as some western and New England states, Hawaii amd Puerto Rico.

Verbena bonariensis is a member of the Verbenaceae - Verbena family.
