Lyonia Environmental Center

The exhibit of Paul Rebmann Nature Photography titled "Only in Florida" is now hanging in the Lyonia Gallery in the Lyonia Environmental Center in Deltona.

The Lyonia Environmental Center (LEC) opened in Oct. 2009 and is part of the Deltona Regional Library complex at Lyonia Preserve. The LEC features exhibits - some of them hands-on and interactive - about the environment in Volusia County. New at LEC is the live animal room, with alligators, snakes, turtles, fish and other animals. Also at the LEC are classrooms, a workroom for visiting scientists, outdoor amphitheater, an environmentally themed art exhibit, gift shop.
Several photographs by Paul Rebmann were utilized for the educational displays at the LEC.

Behind the LEC is the Lyonia Preserve, a 360 acre county property. Since 1994 Volusia County has been restoring the habitat to the natural scrub preferred by the Florida scrub jay, a threatened species found only in Florida. There are several hiking trails that loop through the preserve where is is possible to see some of the Florida scrub jays that live in the Lyonia Preserve.

The Lyonia Environmental Center and Lyonia Preserve are at:
